Objective:
--------------------------------------
The objective in 3Dris is to rotate and move the pieces as they
fall down the pit and align them to the others already in the pit
to form complete planes. When a plane is complete it disappears
and points are given. As time goes, the pieces will fall faster
to the ground(Game Speed). When the pieces pile up to the top of
the pit, the game is over.
Score Calculation:
--------------------------------------
You only get one point for placing the actual piece in the pit.
However, if you drop them down(without letting them fall down
by themselves) you get one point for each step you drop them from,
ie if you drop a piece from the top to the bottom(if the pit is
ten layers high) you get ten points for that piece. The second(and
the best) way the get points is to form planes. When a plane is
completed it disappears and you get one point for each cube in
that plane.
To get a LOT of points try complete several planes with the same
piece. This way you get two points for every cube in the second
plane you complete, three for every cube in the third plane etc.
An example; If the pit base is 5x5 squares and you complete 3
planes with one piece you get 5*5 + 2*5*5 + 3*5*5 = 150 points.
Levels:
--------------------------------------
In the game you can choose between 4 different levels(0,1,2 and
3). At level 0 and 1 the pit size is 5x5x10 and at level 2 and
3 the pit size is 6x6x12 and 7x7x12 respectively. At level 0 (Flat
4) the pieces consist of all possible combinations of four cubes
combined in one plane (ie the pieces in standard 2D tetris). At
level 1 (Ext 4) the pieces consist of all combinations of four
cubes, ie even the combinations that goes over two planes. At
level 2 (Flat 5) it's the same principle as in level 0 but the
pieces consist of five cubes instead. At level 3 (Ext 5) it's
the same principle as in level 1 but the pieces consist of five
cubes instead of four.
Game Speed:
--------------------------------------
When a game begins the Game Speed is 0. The higher the speed value,
the faster the piece falls to the ground. In certain intervals
this value will increase with one step. This time interval gets
smaller as you collect much points(1000p equals a decrease of
this interval with 5 seconds). At level 0 this interval is 60
seconds from the beginning, 70 seconds at level 1, 80 seconds
at level 2 and 90 seconds at level 3. An example; If you have
2000 points at level 2 the time between speed steps is 80-2*5
= 70 seconds. The time between speed steps can never be smaller
than 10 seconds. The actual Speed value defines how often the
piece hops down one layer in the pit. At speed 0 the time between
these hops is 3 seconds on level 0 and level 1. On level 2 this
time is 4 seconds and on level 3 it's 5 seconds. Then, for each
speed value step this time is decrease with 15%. An example; the
time between piece hops at Speed 3 on level 2 is 4*(0.85^3) =
2.46 seconds. An addition to the game speed value is that there
is a way for the player to reduce the speed value. The speed value
can never be greater than the total amount of cubes in the pit.
An example: If you manage to clear the pit totally(ie no cubes
at all) the game speed value goes back to 0.
The Pit:
--------------------------------------
As pieces fall down the pit, they change in colour. Every colour
corresponds to a certain layer in the pit. The bottom layer in
the pit (the pit floor) has the colour red, the second from the
bottom is green and the third from the bottom is blue. fourt,
fifth and sixth has again red-green-blue etc. The pit walls indicate
these colours. When pieces are placed in the pit they get the
colour that the wall on that layer has. This way you can get a
feel for the depth in the pit - just remember red-green-blue.
When you stack the pieces on top of each other, sometimes there
will be "holes" under certain cubes. A black dot on
a cube indicates that there is a "hole" somewhere under
that cube so try not to pile more pieces on top of that cube.
User registration and score reporting:
--------------------------------------
In order to report your score to the PeJo Software website you
must first register a user. This is easily done via the "user
settings" menu in the game. Choose any username and password
and enter your unique orderID(received in the purchase confirmation
email). Make sure your device is connected to the internet and
select "register user". If you receive an error message
during registration try another username as it may be taken already.
The username entered is the name displayed at the highscore lists
on the web page when a score is reported.
To report a score just enter the highscore list in the game and
select the highscore entry you want to report and select "YES".
Make sure your device is connected to the internet.
Stylus Control (Only for PocketPC and PC):
--------------------------------------
Accelerate piece:
If you hold the stylus down on the piece it will start to accelerate
down the pit.
You can edit the "Accelerate wait time" (the time you
must hold the stylus down
before it starts to accelerate down) in the settings - stylus
settings menu.
Drop piece:
If you double click on the piece it will drop down to the bottom
of the pit. You can edit the "Double click time" (The
maximum time between two clicks for it to be intepreted as a "double
click") in the settings - stylus settings menu. Also both
of the two clicks must be inside the stylus tolerance "square"(see
stylus tolerance).
Stylus tolerance:
The "stylus tolerance" is a little square (its origin
where the stylus starts to press the surface and its side measured
in pixels) that affects the stylus control.
Movement and rotation:
To move the piece in any direction just tap the stylus on that
side you want the piece to move to. You must keep the "tap"
(press and release) INSIDE the tolerance square for it to count
as a "piece movement". If not (ie tap and slide the
stylus making it release outside the little tolerance square)
it is interpreted as a "piece rotation". Ie to move
the piece, tap(press and release at the same spot), and to rotate
press and slide the stylus.
